Professional of the Quarter

Angela Hackett

We are proud to share that Angela Hackett, LPN at Gallatin Center for Rehabilitation and Healing, has been chosen as Professional of the Quarter.

Angela has worked at Gallatin Center for eleven years, following her graduation from nursing school. “I make sure patients are taken care of; we are here for them emotionally, too,” she started, “…taking care of people is something I always wanted to do. I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others.”

As a charge nurse on the short stay rehabilitation wing of Gallatin Center, Angela provides outstanding clinical care while monitoring the duties of the CNAs who work in that area. “Everyone here is a family. We have great teamwork, and a good support system here,” Angela shared.

Her superb customer service skills are a major reason for high patient and family satisfaction. She recently also won the THCA Caregiver of the Year award, highlighting her efforts taking care of people in the community, along with her patients.

She faithfully comes to work in spite of floods, tornadoes and snow storms. She even volunteered to work weekends for a co-worker who had been diagnosed with brain cancer. “I always check in on everyone, anytime anyone is sick. I want to help people through their weakest, vulnerable moments in their lives; I want to make a difference in their lives.”

As a nominee for Professional of the Year, she will have the chance to receive a vacation as a prize! “I would bring my husband, my daughter, and my grandson,” she shared, “They help me to be the person I am. Sometimes I work late, and they stand by me.”

When asked how it felt to be Professional of the Quarter, she shared, “I could never tell you how much it means, it’s an honor; it’s a blessing. It makes me want to do even more, and to help more. I could never put it into words. I know what I do is important, but it is my day to day. Thank you.”

Out in the community, she is a visible advocate for Gallatin Center, and her profession. She sets a wonderful example of what every caregiver should be!
