Details of Experience:
Following a fracture of the left femur, Ms. Landrian was admitted to South Miami Hospital and then transferred to Palmetto Subacute Care Center on March 6, 2020. She needed skilled care and assistance to be able to return home, and with the assistance of the hospital, Ms. Landrian and her family determined Palmetto would be the perfect fit.

Ms. Landrian was welcomed with open arms to the community. She was promptly escorted to her room and was attended by Palmetto’s skilled nursing staff shortly following arrival. Subsequently, she was evaluated by Palmetto’s Physical and Occupational Therapy teams, Social Worker, and Concierge. She was given a personalized treatment plan based on the objective findings of the nursing and rehabilitation team. This plan focused upon the ultimate goal of discharge following full recovery.

Ms. Landrian received physical therapy five days per week, in order to improve and assess functional abilities. She also received occupational therapy five days a week, in order to improve and assess safety and independence with self-care and functional tasks.

During her stay at Palmetto Subacute Care Center, Ms. Landrian celebrated her 79th birthday. “Words can’t describe how grateful I am for my friends and family here at Palmetto Subacute Care Center.”, she explained. “They are keeping me safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. And despite a pandemic going on, they still managed to make my birthday one of a kind by bringing out all my church girlfriends. I had what they call a ‘window birthday’. Me in the facility, celebrating with my friends, who are on the other side of the window. This brought tears of joy to my eyes. I am also very thankful for the therapists who do exercise with me, and the nurses who take care of me. I thank you guys so much.” She stated, in appreciation for the skilled Palmetto team, who strive to keep her happy and healthy.

Ms. Landrian is still continuing her journey at Palmetto in efforts to one day fully recover and safely return home! The Palmetto team is so proud of her amazing progress!
